Windows XP Loses Users in April, But Still Refuses to Die

it's about setting things up from scratch that is daunting for many I think - thus they keep running xp.

This is why MS is pushing services for this, especially since the average user could run into a million roadblocks.

Just go back a few OS and see how much MS has moved stuff around for Power Users with each OS release.

That is among one of the few reasons that some are on XP. Besides not having money to upgrade or replace their machines, or they have expensive software or have invested in peripherals that only work under XP. Besides all that, having to go through all your software to make sure it runs under the latest OSs is more of an annoying task than anything else. It's best to get a new machine with the latest OS's and coast your way into it versus waiting until the OS you're using is dead and expect to keep using that OS. But with the recession being a factor and some software companies most likely went under, they probably only ran under XP and there's no way to get it to work with the latest OSs. If that software is important and you can't find it anywhere else, well your just stuck using whatever you got.
