Popular Post shought
Thanking the topic starter for his/her contribution to the forum is a great way of supporting the community. It shows your appreciation while it also provides a stamp of approval for other members and it provides the poster with the positive feedback he/she may be looking for. However these thanks posts do cause a lot of unnecessary "clutter" which is why we introduced the "Like / Thanks" button. The "Like / Thanks" button should be used when thanking another member or showing your appreciation in any other way. This also means it is no longer allowed to post a lot of generic "Thanks for the update" posts or anything of the like. Now don't worry, we're not banning the practice of thanks posts entirely, but we have added the following line to the Community Guidelines: "The use of the 'Like / Thanks'-button is preferred over simply posting 'Thanks' or something similar. Making an excessive amount of posts which add little to nothing to a topic might result in a post count reduction." Alegom
What about a Thanks button on the main page as well? I mean, near the contents at http://www.nsanedown.com/. That way we could thank without having to go specifically to the forums most of the times. Just an idea... DANh88

majithia23
Its not something New that has been introduced . This system was already there, with clear instructions in the existing board rules too !But, this thread had to be started -->to ascertain the importance of this rule,>to let the members unknown to this thing get acquainted,>to re-remind the members who already knew this. And this is thanks to some few members who literally r@ped the threads with useless and crappy "Thanks for the update" posts . NeowinMOD™
Great post shought, I have never really understood this "Thanks for the post" reply, in my honest opinion clicking Like button is much more simple and better way to show the appreciation to other members. Though maximum limit of Like button clicking should be little higher, i.e when member has more than 1000 posts Like button clicking should have greater value of maximum clicks per day. This is only because there might be some very useful posts/topics and when maximum Like button clicking amount is reached you can not Like anymore.I think you should "integrate" Like button clicking amount to posts amount, so members who posts a lot can click Like button more often per day.
