Hey Purple Trail,
Pardon me for being a Paparazzo, but would you mind sharing the links to the "Gauges" website and the "Electronics, Cars, Fashion" website?
Cheers

I just update my chrome and see nothing special like new tab api.... all seems like brfore :shy:

I'm assuming you're already using the redesigned "New Tab" page and have no idea what the old one looks like. The redesigned new tab page was introduced with Google Chrome 30. Also make sure you are actually running version 33.0.1750.117.

Not my own screenshots, I used the ones I found on this page, but I think the websites you are looking for are http://get.gaug.es/ and http://www.ebay.com/.

Has anyone a link to the Dutch offline version of Google Chrome?

https://support.google.com/installer/answer/126299?hl=de

Almost.

"de" Deutsch is the German version.

"nl" Nederlands is the Dutch version.

Those pages lead to the multi-language version I think. Only the landing page is in the language specified in the URL.

So I think that Purple Trail is correct.

hi guys

can someone give me some hints in optimizing google chrome for faster performance?

i noticed this version disabled

GPU compositing on all pages Mac, Linux
Uses GPU accelerated compositing on all pages, not just those that include GPU-accelerated layers. #force-compositing-mode-2
Sorry, this experiment is not available on your platform.
Threaded compositing Mac, Linux
Uses a secondary thread to perform web page compositing. This allows smooth scrolling, even when the main thread is unresponsive. #threaded-compositing-mode
Sorry, this experiment is not available on your platform.

this made my google chrome very fast when enabled, i wonder why they disabled the features in this new version, have you guys found anything similar? also the api that made chrome tab revert to the original old one is nowhere to be found.

btw does anyone enable dns prefetching option (predict network actions to improve page performance) and the web service to resolve navigation errors? i find it that if i disable them pages load faster.

How can I disable auto update in google chrome? :(

Disable Chrome Silent Updates via the Windows Registry

A, Save file in desktop and run!

http://www.solidfiles.com/d/ee33e47b87/chrome-manual-updates_disable.reg

B,Manage Chrome Updates via the Group Policy Editor:

http://www.solidfiles.com/d/5b39dd65af/GoogleUpdate.adm

Once the file is downloaded start the Group Policy Editor. This can be done via the Windows control panel or by typing gpedit.msc in the Run or search fields of the Start Menu. Once the Group Policy Editor is open you should expand the Computer Configuration leaf node. Then right-click on the Administrative Templates node and select Add/Remove Templates

ha3x7xx9yo2nq5bgk1r_thumb.jpg

The Add/Remove Templates dialog screen will open and you will see a list of installed templates. Do not be concerned if this list is blank as that is perfectly normal. Now click on the Add button and browse to the location where you download the Google Administrative Template. When you find it, double-click on it, and you should now be brought back to the Add/Remove Templates screen, but should now see the GoogleUpdate Template listed.

Now press the Close button and you should be back at the main screen of the Group Policy Editor. Now we need to navigate to the Chrome group policy. This can be found at the following locations depending on your version of Windows.

For Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, Windows 2008 R2, and Windows 8:

Local Computer Policy -> Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Classic Administrator Templates -> Google-> Google Update-> Applications -> Google Chrome

When you select the Google Chrome node, you will see two settings in the right-hand pane. Please double-click on the Update policy override setting.

At the above screen you can now change this setting to one of the following policies:

-Always allow updates: This setting means that updates are always installed when they are found via manual checks or silent update checks.

-Manual updates only: This setting means that updates are only installed when found during a manual check.

-Automatic silent updates only: This setting means that updates are only installed when found via periodic silent update checks.

-Updates disabled: This setting will disable all updates for Google Chrome.

bergo thanks for the reg files, but can you also make reg files that undo the procedures? it may be necessary in the future.

..........

The way I read it, is that you are not using Chrome on Mac, and not on Linux.

So if you are on Windows, both are not available. With an exception for #1.

The first one is not available, unless specifically specified in the CSS of the site that you are visiting. Only sites specifically specifying matched CSS rules with hardware acceleration properties (translate, translate3D, rotate, scale, keyframes, etc) will be allowed to make use of the GPU.

The second one is never available on Windows at the moment.

Browser vendors (especially Google with Chrome) are for years now, trying to hardware accelerate everything automatically. Whether it's specified in CSS or not. In Google Chrome for instance everything 2D is GPU hardware accelerated out of the box where possible. But there are still artifacts, broken layouts, and freeze ups with 2D and 3D acceleration. Especially the broken layouts are embarrassing for a browser vendor.

(Windows user. Same here.)

You can easily do this yourself. Copy the *.reg files and place a minus sign in front of the keys.

Instructions here under the heading "Deleting Registry Keys and Values" :

If you want these features back, you have to use chrome 31.
