geeteam
HTC today briefly listed a new Android smartphone on its European website. While far from being as exciting as the yet-to-come M8 flagship, the new handset, called HTC Desire 310, appears to be HTC’s first to use a MediaTek chipset. Running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the Desire 310 reportedly comes with a quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. The rest of its features won’t impress anyone, seemingly including a 4.5-inch display with 480 x 854 pixels, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, dual-SIM capabilities, VGA front-facing camera, 5MP rear camera without flash, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of expandable internal memory. It’s said that the handset weighs 140 grams, measures 131.44 x 68.03 x 11.25mm, and has a 2,000 mAh battery on the back. The Desire 310 looks a lot like the dual-core Desire 300 from 2013 (that one uses a Snapdragon S4 CPU). It might be the same device as the D310w that we spotted alongside the HTC M8X earlier this month. Apparently, the 310 will be released in the near future in two color version (black and white), almost certainly for a low price. We heard that HTC may also launch affordable smartphones featuring octa-core MediaTek processors sometime later this year. The existence of the quad-core Desire 310 kind of gives credence to that rumor, doesn't it? Source
