geeteam
The seven-inch Nexus tablet is in its second incarnation but according to recent reports, demand for Google’s smaller pure Android slate has been suffering due to low-price offerings from competitors. An eight-inch Nexus tablet has been rumored for quite some time, ever since the Android-maker ran a render of a tablet which appeared to be larger than seven inches — which turned out to be nothing else but maybe a Photoshop mistake. However, according to the ever-present “sources from the upstream supply chain”, Google might turn its attention to the eight-inch tablet market, with plans for a Nexus 8 by mid-2014. The same report mentions ASUS as the OEM for the Nexus 8, and Intel’s Bay Trail-T platform is hinted as the preferred power plant. Same sources suggest that more Nexus 8 related information might be unveiled over the course of next month, but make sure to treat this, as well as similar early rumors, with the usual dose of skepticism. The 2013 Nexus 7 has been announced in July, and, like its predecessor, it has been built for Google by ASUS.
