Yeah, I think it will take some time.

Too bad, because SMARTPlacement is really good to prevent fragmentation, and I can't use PD 12.5, since it is not compatible with Windows 8.1...

PD 12.5 IS FOR 8.1 DOWNLOAD THE new verson then the patch and do this

IT solved problem, thanks.Everyone can try manually that

.First extract hotfix.exe file than copy DefragFs.sys f to \Windows\system32\DRIVERS

overwrite old file with the new one and restart

Forgot to say use 64 bit if you are using 64 bit windows.

dkt27 i used paypal to pay not a credit card.

I see. But Paypal here doesn't consider bank account as a type of payment method and requires one to link a credit card in order to pay. :)

dont the have prepaid visa there

You mean debit cards? Yes we do, however, due to a policy of the government, they only work on Indian shopping sites, which somehow, Paypal India doesn't come under.

Weird, after I have installed the running exe for this update, I got errors on PerfectDisk, where it couldn't analyse my hard drive, and getting erros, moving forward, after I had unrar the update, I have found that it replaces a Driver namely DefragFs.sys, which is stored on Windows\system32\driver or wow64 folder for x64, after I had manually replaced the driver, not using the script from Raxco, I finally applied the fix, and now PerfectDisk is running as it should.

For those, who are experiencing problems, you need to manually replace the driver not with Raxco's script.

Why do they release a script that doesn't work, is must be to force to update to version 13, moreover the newer version doesn't have any new feature that will entice someone to update after this updated driver that works on 12.5

But Optiwrite prevents Windows from fragmenting the files, so after you install perfectdisk you will never have fragmentation at all, but SDD is a way better than old HDD

Hi,

I try to tell my history:

1) I use (fresh) Windows 8.1 x64

2) the FIRST Raxco version that run fine on my PC is v13 BUT... in trial mode :(

Now: i have solved the problem (without key for the vers. 13) with this way:

1. setup of PD Professional vers. 12.5 Build 312

2. plus this hotfix http://blog.raxco.com/2013/10/18/perfectdisk-12-5-compatibility-w-windows-8-1-windows-server-2012-r2/

3. Register with

I have tested few times in the past that hotfix does not work on Windows 8.1.! Still need serial or medicine for v13.

@GeziPark Resistance

I suggest to try with my instructions,

Before i see:

- On my Windows 8.1 x64 run fine ONLY PD v13

- ALL PREVIOUS versions failed with exoticos errors

Now after my steps ( 12.5B312) PD RUN FINE!

Of course, the serial or medicine for v13 are welcome !!

Patch by raxco working perfect here: Windows 8.1 enterprise. I have perfect disk 12.5. Before applying the patch the program could not even analyze my SSD and my HDD...Now everything is ok.

I have execute patch with admin rights and have stopped Kaspersky before.
