Can someone tell me how to change a contact's display name on Skype 6.2 or is it NOT EVER going to be possible?

There's someone on my list who needs updated display name but it won't let me do it... I must be missing something!

That means you have corrupted your profile data. Sorry.

1. Go to the folder called "Roaming", located in your Users\"your name" directory, the folder is hidden. It is under "AppData"

2. delete the Skype folder there

3. reinstall Skype and launch it new

Now rename the f... name like i said...

I did this but the option still doesn't exist... what in the fuck!

Edit: ACTUALLY found the solution... posting it for convenience (since theres not a easier way):

You can rename MSN contacts in Skype.

1. Double click the contact

2. Hover the mouse over the name above the picture

3. An edit icon apppears to the right of the name

4. Click on it

5. Edit the name and save it

Hope this helps out others who need to rename a contact within Skype too :)

Hey man! Do not worry about the different link. The program is valid digital signature. This is a newer version, only.

Computers with Intel Pentium 3 or similar CPU's, which do not support SSE2 instructions, are not supported anymore.

lol ?

I will not able to use Skype 6.2 then -.-

because I'm using an AMD Sempron Socket A CPU (that still rocks).

and no, I don't have plans to upgrade hardware just to use new Skype lol

so what's the latest version im a little confused

is it v6.2.73.106 or v6.2.0.106? is the link on FP updated?

official is 6.2.0.106. The other version is not in the changelog mentioned.

Here should be something written on the other version: http://blogs.skype.com/category/garage-updates/

Actually i feel it is for buisness partners OR a developer version...

Could someone check to see if DTMF tones work in either of these versions (i.e. when you have to press a dial pad number to advance on a telephone menu system).

The last version they were working was 5.10 which I am forced to continue using.

Cheers.

That's because there is no new version. For years, Skype has varied the third number in its version scheme according to the particular options that they've packed into the installer. Depending on where you download it from, this third number can vary. It typically means slight differences in default setup options, what's bundled with it, etc.
