Did anyone tried running PC games on it? just curious? Im on vista right now..

Only game i installed & run right now is PKR, which is quite a resource hogger; works great.

I haven't installed any more games yet.

We'll see, i am a huge underdog / abandonware fan so i quess i'll have some headaches coming up :)

Does online games face any problems?

No, all 'adobe'-plugins work just fine (flash & shockwave).

Online multi-player gaming is not a problem (i run pkr a lot).

I am running firefox btw..

Wow. It ran right out of the box, i even did some easy partition management with it.

That's one of the USPs inherent in Windows7, just as jalaffa, too reiterates above - do keep us all posted on this topic.

That's funny, mine (2gb ram as well) runs a bit faster then XP, especially shutdown & startup speeds stfu.gif are better.

It uses about 50% available memory but i quess that has to do with prefetching and stuff like that.

Hybernation mode soups up 1 gb of swap diskspace but that can be turned off.

On my XP Pro, hibernation grabs a disk space that is equivalent to my RAM (2 GB in your case) - it's really good news that your Windows7 has claimed merely 1 GB instead of 2 GB.

BTW, congrats on becoming a ViP (you deserve it, man.)

You mean you upgraded to W7 and found out your vista key (from anywhere :lmao: ) turned out invalid?

Man that's sick. Makes you think why they come up with those nasty keys.

I am glad i have a key for life. :)

actually there will be a link available that once you are logged onto your technet account (be it free or with subscription), will redirect you to a page with a serial about the full window7

just like this one http://i43.tinypic.com/345ohdw.png

except it won't be for the beta ver :welcome:

I think you've got this wrong. Any Vista key is no good for Windows 7.

Updates make me feel bloated :)

Actually, installing whatever OS nowadays feels bloated.

They're all pre-packed with all kinds of software and take up many gigabytes of hd-space.

Seriously, 5 years ago, who would have thought clean installations would take up to 10 gb or more?

It seems like the bigger company, the bigger their software releases. Microsoft, nero, adobe, mac, all alike.

About a month ago i used an external hd to burn the master collection of adobe cs4 for installation.

It wouldnt fit on a dvd double layer. :frusty:

But, then again, hd's and memory are cheap nowadays.

As long as it works ok and there are no better / liter alternatives, so be it.

There's not a lot to do about it except complaining to the producer or boycot their software.

I am glad to see microsoft started to listen and learned from vista.

Power to the people, p2p! ;)

Well you sound just like “640K ought to be enough for anybody.” , from mister Bill a.k.a Gates. :frusty:

In my opinion it doesn't really matter how big or bloated a system/app is as long as you take in consideration the power of the actual PC's, ass long as it does it's job in a good way. As you say even if bloated but you like the program you won't mind , you'll get used to it at least :). For instance I'm not the kind of guy that likes glossy UI's i still use the old Win 95(windows classic theme) Ui in windows simply because it's simple and effective, this doesn't mean that if i see wonderful site in flash i won't appreciate it , it only means that every one has must know what they like and the way the like it and adapt according to the times, bloated or not ;)

PsychoticxBloodxLust

i combat bloated sp releases by downloading the latest .ISO disc from MSDN you can find them via torrent as well

anyway havn't got a chance to test my copy of vista 7 will try to do a little bit later on in the day and week.

Omg, did i sound like Bill? :frusty:

Anyway, for the glossy ui i totally agree with you; no need for eyecandy when its not effective.

In xp pro i 2 still used the classic theme, because i disliked the teletubby theme (especially the teletubbiesfield-desktop).

On the other hand, after 8 years of facing the same desktop day by day, i am now pretty happy with the windows 7 theme.

True, it's glossy, but it's functional and it's fast (probably because of the new kernel).

Beautiness is in the eye of the beholder, but bloatiness (does that wordeven exist :frusty:) is another story.

Lol people didn't understood what i meant..

I have a new pc.. (for 2 months now..) And i asked the dealer to put a cracked Vista on it. I could update etc. etc...

When I made a partition and installed W7 on that, i couldn't make the cracked Vista valid again ><

That's why i'll just wait..
