In congratulating Obama, Romney says he will "pray for him, and pray for this great nation." 11:25 p.m. -- It's official: Barack Obama has been re-elected as the 44th president of the United States The president claimed victory over Mitt Romney after winning the pivotal state of Ohio, tweeting his supporters: "This happened because of you. Thank you. We're all in this together. That's how we campaigned, and that's who we are. Thank you. -bo" A crowd at a Chicago convention center began cheering and dancing after the Ohio call, as The Supremes' You Can't Hurry Love over loudspeakers. The Associated Press officially called the race at 11:39 p.m. While Romney still held a lead in the popular vote, Obama is on the track to win as many as 300 electoral votes, and perhaps more; it takes 270 to win a presidential election. Romney is expected to speak tonight at a convention center in Boston; Obama will follow him with remarks in Chicago. 11:19 p.m. -- President Obama wins Ohio, closes in on a second term. Aides for Obama and Mitt Romney saw Ohio as the key to the election. I believe the same that American people don't want to change, most American people and others can easily to be blinded by the fact that world is going to change and poverty is going to be easered. Some people love these this kind of politics because they can the most out of it. Nowadays, becoming political's of any country is to become power man who careless of his own people. Political's always made significant promises in their life to their people, but out 10 only 1 to 2% was delivered or even less. President's and MP's and others Political's including powerful business people want this world for their own interest matter not what is involve, because we have to follow and if we don't we will see darkness rest of the life or die. This is the world we live in. People have lost their fate and hopes just because they have been turned into muppets, and now they can't see what is wrong and right. Should they believe media, friends, political's, religious leaders or their ownself to make the right decision to move forward and which is very rare to see nowadays. And also, to respond to grouchysmurf, I don't think that going to war is completely necessary to maintain freedom. It is needed in defensive terms of course but our defensive war has LONG since ended. We are simply doing a repeat of Adolf Hilter, the rest of the world knows it, but most of the people of the USA can't see it. The people of the corrupt nation find it hard to see that they actually live in that nation. They are unaware that they themselves have been turned corrupt. Alex Jones said it the best and I agree with him, "The American people are in a trance and I'm not mad at them, but I am so sorry for them." So how do you manage to admit that the USA has become the center of most of the worlds problems? Consider yourself to be a member of the human race and of planet Earth. If you can do that, tear away division and count yourself as human, you can safely see individual national issues and problems without feeling as though things were hopeless. I may live in the USA but I consider myself to be a resident of Planet Earth rather than a citizen of a nation. Past the point of anger is feeling sorry for people. Once you realize what has been done to us on large scale; our food and water both polluted with brain damaging elements ON PURPOSE. Every since September 11th of 2001 we have been in one massive prolonged war that may never end. Why is this? Because we have been taught that war is good and peace is bad. We have been taught to love death and forget about life. We have been brain washed to think that bad means good and good means bad. Since I was a kid even (29 now) I was taught by most people around me that love is not real and that it will hurt you in the end so I might as well just be angry and hateful like everyone else. NOT ME. I stand divided against the war mongers god dammit! Unlike all the fools who think that war means peace, I understand that it means eventual GLOBAL ENSLAVEMENT. Take time to see these documentaries, I ask that you watch these with an open mind. If you seen these already, move along. As an non-US here, I can't get over it. US President is not a US President, but World ruler, earth tyrant. And Americans are given this right to elect a person to rule the world, and they are selected this guy. No, I won't get over it. It's under Obama rule where all the anti-p2p efforts have increased drastically. He has nothing to be blamed, but it's under his presidency where first SOPA, PIPA then ACTA were going to be passed. It was under his presidency where US Department of Justice took down almost a 1000 site in one day even without properly checking if they infringe any copyright. It was under his presidency where they were planning to give ICANN a total "kill switch" of the internet whenever US pleases for it's own gain. No, I won't get over it, because knowingly or unknowingly, his government has been a cancer, both in outside world and the internet world, and I give him no rights whatsoever to control my life, living 13000KMs away from me, thinking they can do anything they want to do. Wealthy white wacko that believe "Jesus will rule from Missouri", and the solution he is proposing - giving rich people and companies more cash to spend and invest. @DKT27 I'm not expert in law but as far as I know it is illegal to steal intellectual property - that has been patented. Websites that make money on "sharing" (or selling) stolen goods like books, music, movies, software are illegal by U.S. federal legislation (federal crime). Not sure what's wrong of American president to protect interests of American companies. That is minor problem. Key notes: -He didn't start more wars. -Returning solders. -Dollar is rising. -Stabilizing economy. -Social politics - helping poor people get medical care, helping middle class. -More tax for rich people. -Smart, well dressed and well behaved for/on all occasions. -Tolerant and respectful. -I can feel him. But what if Romney was different then what we think him as? What if Obama's aggression will ultimately lead to war? What if many of Obama's actions was only because of elections coming? I know this is all speculation, but Romney would wreak havoc is also a speculation unless we see him performing on stage. Obama is better for the world, but he is bad for the internet. Internet doesn't matter in front of real world situations, but I don't like Obama's real world tactics either. There was a reason why the surveys showed them 51:49 percent. Both of them had their goods and bads. Also, I personally feel he has had some actions that I will never accept. Hence I wanted change. I can't see him another 4 years. Few things can be fatal if he continues to do them and doesn't change things. O.T. It also paves way for American Citizens infinite detention WITHOUT TRIAL.
