And why people like Chrome ABOVE Firefox I can never understand. Chrome is faster...but that's about it.

Nono. That line is from the article above. The Encrypted Google Search paragraph. :)

That's incorrect. Google tracking you or not depends on your Google account settings or google cookie on your web browser. What is being talked about is that the connection between Firefox and Google is now encrypted by default. Do not track is still not respected by Google as far as I know.

Good to know, I misunderstood what I read. All the same I'm not a big google user and I'll still take firefox over IE 9 anyday.

You forgot to say beautiful (clean interface) and most important not laggy when scrolling up and down.

Firefox can be customized any way possible. That non-laggy interface is just a gimmick done by Google. All one needs is to modify one or two about:config values in Firefox to get the scrolling required.

Here, try this:

mousewheel.withnokey.sysnumlines

Toggle it to False. Still a problem? Try enabling/disabling smooth scrolling in Options > Advanced. Chrome doesn't have smooth scrolling.

For me it has enough addons. Im not missing anything from Chrome. I made a portable version too on my pendrive and i can use it at work.

while i have almost entirely switched to chrome having dumped laggy firefox (prior to v14), i still miss the history / url autocomplete that was up to now present in ff. IMHO, that's the only place ff beats chrome. haven't upgraded to/downloaded/installed ff14 yet so can't comment whether that is improved or otherwise...

Chrome sucks, especially when . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . the topic is about Firefox.

Now, coming back to Firefox - some of those so called "noteworthy new features" were already existent much before the V14 debuted. The Author who wrote that original article obviously does not have an inkling on how to configure his Firefox.
