I have 6 tabs opened in Firefox 13.0 and is faster than 12.0 and with less RAM occupied .

I find really useful the new Home-page layout (with quick acces to the most used buttons) , also I like a lot the `New Tab` - is similar to GoogleChrome`s

And with the final build, they finally fixed the blatant problem where the speeddial thumbnails would often be blank after restarting the browser.

So that's what I was looking for. ONe of the changes was:

Restored background tabs are not loaded by default for faster startup

Is there a about:config to revert that? As I rather wait than to have to CLICK on each tab to have them reloaded.

You want them always restored at startup? If so, you can try to uncheck the very first box from the Firefox options > General.

^Oh nvm, hehe there was an option for TMP that was checked... Hmm guess the update that introduced it defaulted and changed the option.
