Mozilla has been working on the Windows 8 Metro version of its Firefox web browser for a few months now. This week, Mozilla's Madhava Enros posted up an online slide presentation from a recent company conference which shows, among other things, some mockups of what the Metro version of Firefox might look like. One of them is a Start page that displays favorite sites along with some bookmarks in the Metro UI to the right of those web sites.

Another side showed what a typical web page might look like running under Firefox for Windows 8 Metro.

inally, the presentation showed how tabs might be displayed for the Metro version of Firefox; all three slides showed the web browser running on what we assume is a mockup of a fictional Windows 8 tablet.

The same presentation also showed some designs for upcoming versions of Firefox running on Android tablets and smartphones, along with a special "reading" mode for smartphones that would help users read texts more clearly on small screens. There's also some slides that feature a future version of Firefox called Australis. It features more curved shapes and tabs along with a simplified menu selection.

In related news, Mozilla programmer Brian Bondy has posted up his own slide presentation on his blog, going over some technical details and challenges concerning the Windows 8 Metro version of Firefox.
