I must say that Firefox 7 is much faster than Opera... and have less problems with pages, and less bugs, error etc.

And FF7 have much better ad blocking addons.

Installed Firefox 7.0 on my virtual machine, and java console 6.0.26 is not compatible with 7.0. Just to let anybody know. ;)

Thanks for the update :)

Maybe a little stupid question...

can I install over v6.0.2 or maybe the better solution is a clean install?

I'll mention it again. Java console is NOT normal Java. :)

Normal users have no use for Java Console. Normal Java, that's needed to run Flash videos, etc; never get incompatible as it's a plugin and not an extention. ;)

Thanks for the update :)

You can install it over v6.0.2. ^_^

Well... your Java version is behind.. so you need to uninstall it and remove all traces.. Second of all .. Your fix is probably going to come when you uninstall FF.. leaving your profiles in tact as noted by the installer.. it does that... Then delete the Mozilla Firefox program files folder.. Next install the new major version and it should be up to date.. You can also remove the old console as it is installed as an extension.. BUT in the program files folder..There can also be a problem if you have ever copied the plugins folder over and Java when updated... does not know to uninstall the old plugin.. remnants can be left behind.. and removal or replacing those files can be an easy task..

i have installed it over 6.0.2 and went into the about screen and it says You Are Currently On The Release Update Channel..... what is this?

Firefox has four update channels:

  1. Nightly
  2. Aurora
  3. Beta
  4. Final/Release

The reason it says you are on Release update channel is because v7.0 is the final version and you'll receive updates for final version and not nightly, beta, or aurora. :)

Not again  In real terms this is still version 4 I suppose, just 4.4 or something unless it's a major overhaul. I look forward to them sticking with one and fixing it rather than this number changing every 2 weeks. It feels like yesterday I was still on v3.

This just confuses things and makes it seem really out of date if your on v4 or 5.

Thanks for the update, I'll wait for the inbuilt updater. Are they trying to catch up with Opera? :frusty:
