We are once again looking back at the last seven days on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap website to check out the most interesting new entries that were added last week. This week there was a smaller than normal amount of new listings on the roadmap. Perhaps a lot of Microsoft 365 team members were taking some summer vacation time, and we would not blame them.

Windows 11 versions 22H2 and 23H2 recently received a non-security update with a bunch of new features and small fixes. Sadly, KB5039302 turned out to be a real troublemaker. Microsoft has already confirmed that it causes infinite restarts on certain systems, and now, there is another known bug.

Microsoft today has released a new Beta Channel build for Windows 11 Insiders. The new build, 22635.3858, under KB5039327, fixes a GPU idle power bug, a Storage Spaces Direct issue, a Group Policy bug, and several File Explorer-related problems.

It’s time to install the June updates, which is why I’m lowering the MS-DEFCON level to 4. I’m not seeing any widespread issues or major impacts. Most side effects seem to be with Win11 Insider versions and 24H2.

Files, a feature-packed alternative to the stock File Explorer in Windows 10 and 11, has been updated to version 3.5. It is now available for download from the Microsoft Store and the official website, and it brings design improvements, a new widget for network drives, better multitasking, and other minor changes across the app.

Microsoft plans to push a new Outlook version to all customers. This new version will replace the Mail and Calendar apps of Windows in 2024, and the Outlook desktop application in the future.
