Nvidia has released the first driver update of this month under version 555.99. This WHQL-certified driver delivers optimizations and DLSS 3 support for Pax Dei, an upcoming MMO-inspired social sandbox, Still Wakes the Deep, and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for Elden Ring.

This new Game Ready Driver provides the best gaming experience for the latest new games supporting DLSS 3 technology including Pax Dei and Still Wakes the Deep. Further support for new titles includes the launch of the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.

In addition, the Nvidia app now features optimal settings for Abiotic Factor, Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, and XDefiant. With the latest additions, over 1,200 titles support one-click optimal settings in the Nvidia app, allowing you to quickly tune the game for the optimal experience on your hardware.

So how do you find the latest stable version?

    What I do is...

    1. Find the Nvidia forums topic for the latest released version. Currently GeForce GRD 555.99 Feedback Thread
    2. Read through its comments and note the version that posters sometimes mention they rolled back to.
    3. After a while you'll notice one older version dominates the rolled-back-to versions mentioned. That's the latest stable version.

I figure the cluey guys reporting bugs know their stuff and will roll back to the version they know is the latest stable version. I trust their experience a heck of a lot more than the Nvidia regurgitated "latest = greatest" marketing twaddle.
