i'll work on one, of course, but i have no idea how the 3.0 protection will work ATM since Eset betas and RCs are always free :dance2:

9down.com has all versions of 3.0. I don't know if that will help but I thought I'd throw it at ya.

this isn't really the final build, it's just an internal beta for distributors...

http://download1.eset.com/special/ess/eav_nt32_enu.msi

...so i'd wait for the actual public release before getting your hopes up. it is only 3 days away after all (Nov. 5th) :sneaky:

ps - ESET made it easier for me to exclude the fix (so that function i coded isn't needed anymore) :P

pps - retail versions refuse to use trial sigs now, so the 3.0 fix will be for TRIAL builds only ;)

Well, it shouldn't be so hard to get our hands on a trial build should it? :P

quoting the trial download page on the US reseller site...

ESET NOD32 Antivirus Version 3.0

Home Edition: Available November 5, 2007.

Business Edition: Available November 26 (or earlier!), 2007.

:P

edit: actually, i might have found a backdoor link to the trial build beta i can go ahead and test with...

thanks to Gandalf131 for pointing me in the right direction

those are actually the RETAIL versions, which require you to enter a password manually. the TRIAL versions come with the username and password "eavtrial44" and "esstrial44" already filled in. here's the links...

NOD32 Antivirus:

http://download2.eset.com/eval/win/eav/eav_nt32_enu.msi

ESET Security Suite:

http://download2.eset.com/eval/win/ess/ess_nt64_enu.msi

...and those should hold people off until i figure out a way to permanently fix em :P

ps - the trial builds refuse to use the "nod_eval" folder too. so i'm ganna need to fix the username/password protections somehow :P

Oh...... ok sorry about the confusion. And thanks for clearing it up. It just dawned on me....your fix has always been used on trial versions! Damn I need to wake up and smell the coffee.

And it sounds like you've already got some ideas on what needs to be done. Thanks for all your work........we are not worthy!

a certain group has released a patch for the RC1 version that is supposed to work (haven't tried it though). if you want to have a look at the code nsane, please don't hesitate to PM me or e.g. Marik.

nope, IIRC v2.x of nsane's fix also worked with the non-trial, commercial version of NOD32 v2.x.

That patch is from P2Pcrackers. They just use an own server to update NOD, so they have 1 valid serial placed on there own server, and then fix NOD so it uses that server. When someone updates he just connects to their server, not to NOD's. Just some info for you.

@Nsane, hope your patch will work! Really appreciate your work man! I wish you good luck with the patch! :P
