nsane
I've decided to stop allowing blank referals to downloads using the php script. If you can't download something thank all the leechers that think stealing bandwidth is cool. Seriously tho, if you can't download something make sure your browser, firewall, and/or proxy allow referal headers and left click the download link normally.Look on the bright side tho, our traffic's ganna increase due to this and alot of people are ganna find out the hard way where to get the latest software downloads. So hopefully I'll be able to afford servers where I don't have to worry about bandwidth. But, as of right now, that isn't really an option :lol:Basicly, it's either this or watch all our downloads go offline because we paid for all these other sites to list our files. Or in the worst case scenario, our hosts dropping us for server abuse. Forum Topic

nsane
http://nsane.szm.sk/hotfix-884538.zip - SOURCEhttp://comservhost.com/nsane/proxy.php?file=hotfix-884538.zip - PROXIED:Dand their's nothing in the ISPs ToS about using them as a proxy service. it's got unlimited bandwidth and the works, just can't put any questionable files on there (which there aren't, just the script). we can also use it to HIDE other servers, so NO ONE can tell where the actual files are located...we're ganna cause hell with this thing :lol:bad thing, i have to manually list each file so i can send the proper filesize header, still pretty simple the way i have it setup tho...that file is an official nsane production M$ leak btw, supplied by dMog :D

nsane
i was just thinking, that proxy script could literally change the DDL scene. think about it, proxies are perfectly legal, and with that script you could hide files ANYWHERE on the net and they'd have no way of removing em. and i very much doubt that they could get a warrent for a simple proxy server

myidisbb
Leeching/blank referrals meaning people are linking directly to your files without providing a source? :lol:and the sites didnt ask for permission either to do that. so their sites get click on and they get credit of banner ads and the file that was link from nsane eats bandwith. (those sites always have banners ads usually of the porn type)oh well. any big sites doing it?
Lee
oh well. any big sites doing it?Hmm, our site (PeerWeb) usually put the nsane download page with the programs information on as a source, and then linked to the download too..

Lee
please i need a bit more specific help... does anyone use Norton Internet Security 2005? could he explain how to configure it please?Fuck no. That program is a resource hog, does a poor job at all of it's offered services and doesn't beat NOD32 in regards to securing your computer againsts virues. Nod32 wins the best definitions each month... :)
