Wow...this version 7 beta 3 opens fast. Which version of FF is getting separate processes? Sounds like by FF 10 and Chrome 17~ these browsers are going to be amazing~! B)

On a side note, I just saw Mozilla updating one of the wiki pages with a small intro for Firefox 7:

Firefox 7 is right there with you on the Web. It will never fall behind or slow you down.

  • "With Firefox 7's new memory management, you can open as many tabs as you want or run the browser for days or weeks at a time and it won't bog down.
  • "With Firefox 7's new "instant sync" feature, you can move to a new device and have your most important settings moved over with no waiting.
  • "With Firefox 7, HTML Canvas is powered by the new Azure hardware acceleration platform so HTML 5 games and animations are blazing fast.
  • "With Firefox 7, Web site developers can use Firefox's new Web Timing features to make their sites faster and more responsive to you."

Moreover, can see that they are implementing some font rendering improvement/enhancement too.

Version 5 I started to noticed slowness.. but seemingly a bit improvement is small areas.. then 6 was slower in some areas ( alot ) and faster at loading a page ( I think from cache ).. but overall slower..

7 seems okay.. and 9 Nightly was majorly faster when up against a few others like 4-8 at the time.. 8 to me showed no signs of improvement at all from 6.. seemed sparatic in improvement.. I worry about the stability of these improvements and the staying power with extensions and plugins.. which I use a minimal number of specifically for the use I have it for ..

Kinda agree about the slowness. Getting the problems I used to get on my old PC. The page loads are horrible when the website is heavy on scripts. Using Speedyfox solved some of my problems. Firefox 7 is going to release on 27th September so I don't mind. :P

Ya know, I am still trying to figure out what the point of all this is.

The only thing I have gotten from all the "version" changes is a

headache trying to figure out which one of my add-ons is not going to work.

I consider myself to be a standard user. I have not noticed any "major" difference

in any of the version changes that warrants this type of "update" intrusion into

my system every couple of weeks.

The only question I have is, will this activity ever slow down, or is this the way it is

going to be from now on, never knowing when I will lose another piece of configuration.

I am waiting for the version that will let me install a chip into my head, then it will be

"blazing" fast and in real time with no memory leaks and ubber organized file system

and..........:frusty:
