Throughout its lifetime, it has been involved with a number of high profile acquisitions, perhaps the largest of which was the 1999 acquisition of the Netscape Communications Corporation. eagle2137 Posted January 2, 2008 Share Posted January 2, 2008 Sad. For many years during the early internet boom, Netscape was the browser of choice for many. At that time, Internet Explorer v2, 3, & 4, wasn't as good. Although today I use Mozilla Firefox or Sunbird for most web browsing, and IE 7.x for certain web sites.
