would one prefer UDefrag over TuneUp U.'s Defrag? Or could I just uninstall UDefrag and use TuneUp's.

Though I've not tried it, I guess 'UltimateDefrag' would be preferable to 'TuneUp Utilities 2008 7.0.7991' for you simply as it's a standalone & specialist defragmenting tool.

In the past, I've used PerfectDisk Pro for about a year and just switched last week to 'Diskeeper 2008 (Pro Premier) 12.0.758.0' and find it excellent.

Same applies for the Uninstaller, as I currently use, Your Uninstaller 2k8

---

I know it is on User Preference, but though I'd throw it out to get some opinions.

I'm running 'Your Uninstaller! PRO 2008 6.1.1236' and it seems to be much better than my 'TuneUp Utilities 2008 7.0.7991' where the uninstalling function is concerned.

However 'TuneUp Utilities 2008 7.0.7991' is one of the best overall Windows Tweakers around.

What's this about uninstalling programs? Why can't you just goto Add/Remove Progs? :unsure:

Righto harbutt - the new 'TuneUp Utilities 2008 7.0.7991' incorportes a new feature that 'uninstalls programs.' Looks like many 3rd party Publishers have introduced Uninstallers that remove some registry entries and uninstall entries that the Windows 'Add/remove' doesn't. :(

@toyo

Just another question: i found on TuneUp Utilities the Registry Cleaner tool. If i run it, i have many invalid values for fixing.

But what does the button named "Start Cleaning" mean?

DELETE values? Or FIX values? Or BOTH? :(

There is a big difference between. If the program registered a file in the program folder, but this file is in System32 - folder, a FIX action will fix this value. A DELETE action removes this value completely, so the program will not start.

I refer to my Norton Windoctor, which can DELETE or FIX, i can choose, what to do.
