toyo
I'll give it a try. When I work in Illustrator/Flash... other stuff I'm too lazy to enumerate, I hardly keep myself from hitting/smashing/killing the computer coz of the SLOWDOWNS - FREEZES... you name them. So please, send me everything, I'm desperate enough to test it. I'll get back with some opinions after a while. Thank you :dance2:Edit: Hey, lucky me, I have a 4 GB Kingston Data Traveler, yey

dock98
i checked this out and it slowed down my internet connection and did not seem to make any difference in my file speed. kept giving me warning about slow internet speed.has anyone else tried this? Donkeyhootie
Well, it's installed and using 4 gig of my 8 gig SanDisk. If it's doing anything, I can't tell yet.But it does seem to prevent my automatic loading of Comodo firewall. I'll have to open a zillion applications that normally swap out to disk and see if it's worth the hassle.

SacredCultivator
I am using this on my Desktop (1GB RAM) and allocated 2.5GB's of my 4GB SanDisk stick, and yeah can't really see much of a difference at all. Haven't tested on my Laptop.
dMog
from what i have read on sites that have tested this software it will help if you have an older laptop, 512 megs ram and a slower speed older type hard drive.... if your running windows XP with the above specs try it it can't hurt and you should see a difference...if your running XP on a laptop/notebook with a gig of ram...your most likely not going to notice anything
SacredCultivator
@dMog: Yeah I read that elsewhere also.. It is for low-end PC/Laptop.. If you have 1 GB of RAM you really won't see a diff at all.. ><

Donkeyhootie
I haven't seen an internet slow down, but haven't seen a speed increase either. And it locks up the system if used with MediaMonkey. We'll have to see how much hassle uninstalling will be. I'm running MM Gold 3.0.1.1116. Vast improvement over 2.xx, but every time I tried to plug in the SanDisk with it running, everything stopped until a forced reboot.eBoostr disappeared properly with the uninstall routine. After a couple of reboots, Comodo came back up at boot time the way it was supposed to do.
WaveRider
Memory sticks are slower for prolonged file read/writes, but quicker for access.Yep, this type memory will die prematurely if used for caching, it may best to use the faster secondary HDD on the PC. Some even say using a RAMDisk would be beneficial!
shought
My report: I tried eBoostr on my laptop, and it really does seem to work. I have 512 MB of RAM but 128 of that is allocated to the video card. I used a 256 MB memstick(just 192 MB of it, other is used) and well i really see my pc being faster. Haven't encountered any problems with programs or the internet. My conclusion: if you have a slow pc or a laptop this program is worth the try. Even a small extra cache(i call 192 MB small ;-)) does the job.
toyo
512 mb ram here, 2gb of flashstick allocated, no improvments seen with the naked eye.
