We knew that Google+ was very popular, even in its so-called limited launch period. But the estimates given out by others on the exact numbers of Google+ registered users were just that: estimated. Today during Google's quarterly financial conference call with financial analysts, News.com reports that the company's CEO, Larry Page, confirmed that Google+ does indeed have over 10 million users less than three weeks after Google launched the service.

In addition to the number of registered users, Page told the analysts that the number of items shared among Google+ users each day is more than 1 billion. The service's +1 button is also being used on the net 2.3 billion times a day. Even with these high numbers, Page said that Google+ technically still in a "field trial". However, the company will continue to expand Google+ to accept more and more users.

The article points out that the biggest single person on Google+ is, ironically, Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Facebook. The third party web site Social Statistics has posted up word that Zuckerberg currently has over 180,000 followers on Google+. Larry Page has "only" the second highest number of Google+ followers with over 94,000 users. Google co-founder, Sergey Brin, is number three with over 71,000 followers. The list also shows some Internet celebrities with big Google+ followings. Actress and The Guild creator Felicia Day is number 9, Minecraft creator Marcus "Notch" Persson is number 12 and Dell CEO, Michael Dell, is number 39 on the list.
