Process Lasso improves system performance, responsiveness, and stability during high loads through dynamic adjustments to process priority classes. It can also automatically terminate undesired processes, apply default priorities and CPU affinities to processes, limit the number of instances a process can have, and log all processes. It is not a task manager replacement, but does have task manager like capabilities to compliment its primary functions. Process Lasso runs on all editions of Windows 2000, XP, 2003, 2008, Vista, and Windows 7.

Thanks to sternog for the update.

What was exactly updated in the latest version:

[.33]Fix.Core: Expanded memory metric widths to 64-bits to handle processes that use more than 4GB of virtual memory on x64 servers (for watchdog thresholds in particular)

[.33]Change.Core: Increased caching of log file reads and writes

[.33]Fix.Log: Fix a missing string error on one type of entry

[.33]Change.GUI: Imrpoved memory load painting (vertical slack space at certain sizes)

[.33]Addition.All: Added new error log for later debugging of issues

[.33]Change.GUI: Default memory watchdog type is 'working set' instead of 'commit size', which is the more likely choice for most users

[.33]Change.GUI: Minor cosmetic tweaks

[.33]Change.Licensing: New license method for Portable Edition

[.33]Change.Installer: Restored Traditional Chinese selection to installer (outdated, but not terribly so)

[.33]Change.Minidump: Decreased size of minidumps for easier user submission

[.34]Fix.Translations: Fix translations in .33

Already at 5.0.0.35

[.35]Fix.Core: Under some circumstances, configuration changes may not have taken effect until a restart of the core engine

I've been using this for a while and I'm not sure that I notice a performance increase. I just can't tell :) Does anyone think that this improves performance for PCs with 4 or 8 gigs of RAM?
