nsane.forums
It was only yesterday that Microsoft's CEO stated that "as we progress through the year, you ought to expect to hear a lot about Windows 8. Windows 8 slates, tablets, PCs, a variety of different form factors." But Microsoft is already backing away from the statements made and has issued a statement in response to what Ballmer publicly proclaimed. Microsoft stated (via Infoworld.com) that "It appears there was a misstatement," a Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement the company issued Monday afternoon. "We are eagerly awaiting the next generation of Windows 7 hardware that will be available in the coming fiscal year. To date, we have yet to formally announce any timing or naming for the next version of Windows." Even though Microsoft's CEO touted the Windows 8 branding, Microsoft is not willing to commit to that branding just yet. The company is taking a cautious approach to the branding as it is typical for Microsoft to wait until closer to the product launch to actually label the new platform. In 2008 Microsoft didn’t label Windows 7 until a few weeks before the platform actually launched. Considering Windows 8 is not expected to launch until 2012, it makes sense for the company to stick to its policy and not commit to a name branding as of yet. Even with this type of policy, it is still interesting that the CEO of the company made the statement only to have it retracted later by a company spokesperson. myidisbb
they really need to do 10 years per OS. not this 5 year crap.i dont think there is anything wrong with it, so long as there isnt a screwup like vista.10 years to work and bugs out and make it stable. xp was a fine exampleof a better product from before hand.me and vista where rushed. i blame me on the clitons and reno because bill gates and ms didnt give clintons or anyone else money back then. but ms enemies did. that lead to the lawsuit against ms that cause the piss poor me product.windows 7 is what vista was suppose to be. vista was rush to make some money. period. 3rd party companies (hardware and software) where not ready for vista. almost 2 years for a lot of them.now we have the bs cloud (rename for drm online control from the early 90's) gimic. even the consoles which where on a 5 year plan are now on 10 year plans. and it worked. xbox 360 won. wi didnt update anything and is now gone. ps3 only trick is being able to play 3d movies if you get a new tv and av system for the home theater setting.sony wiht all their suing hasnt made anything worth crap. N so determine to kill their handheld console ds with the dsi 3d crap that includes always auto updates for drm only. auto drm updates dotn work. we saw it with ps3 becoming a brick and those poor customers where legal. Ambrocious
As time goes forward, it won't be rare to see a new OS every year...but this wont be actually happening for at least 7 years from now. Technology will eventually get too advanced for humans to be able to mentally keep up with and something much like Technocalyps will happen. The merging of brain implants with computer like AI IQ boosts will have to happen some day down the road. I personally want to stay 100% human.
