RIAA Lawyer Recommended To Become Federal Judge

Recommended Posts

It tuned out that Howell was a former RIAA lobbyist and Managing Director of an anti-piracy company, prompting accusations of a conflict of interest.

Just days later it was revealed that Maria Martin-Prat, who was formerly employed as Director of Legal Policy and Regulatory Affairs at the IFPI, had been selected to lead the EU unit that deals with copyright and enforcement issues.

Now, as spotted by Techdirt, Senator Chuck Schumer recently recommended that a Katherine B. Forrest should serve as a judge in the SDNY district court.

Forrest’s recent legal history?
