Rudeboy2025
Uwe Boll likes to make movies based on games. The oft-maligned German director has several game-based movies in the works, and has already released Alone in the Dark and House of the Dead. Other adaptations in his queue include Hunter: The Reckoning and Far Cry.Now Boll is dragging audiences down into the dungeons. His next feature, which begins filming Sunday, is Dungeon Siege, based on the 2002 PC role-playing game from Gas Powered Games and Microsoft Game Studios. Boll acquired the rights to the game in late 2003.Brightlight Pictures has announced the cast for the film, which is due in theaters in 2006. In the lead role of Farmer will be Jason Statham, who played Turkish in Guy Ritchie's caper Snatch. Statham also has some game voice-acting credits in THQ's Red Faction II and Activision's Call of Duty.Norick, Farmer's faithful companion, will be played by Ron Perlman. Perlman played the lead role in Hellboy, and his voice has been used in several games, including Halo 2, NARC, and Lords of EverQuest. Perlman recently signed on to voice-act in VU Games' The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction.Rounding out the Dungeon Siege cast are Matthew Lillard (Scream, Scooby Doo), John Rhys-Davies (Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Lord of the Rings trilogy), and Leelee Sobieksi (Eyes Wide Shut, The Glass House). The game will also feature Kristanna Loken, who plays the lead in Boll's just-wrapped film version of BloodRayne, and Stroker Ace himself, Burt Reynolds--a first for a fantasy film. The movie will see Farmer on a quest to save his wife and child by defeating an evil army that is destroying everything in its path. The screenplay was written by Doug Taylor, David S. Freeman, and Glenn Benest.Source: GameSpotCast looks good but the movie will probably suck.
