nsane.forums
Microsoft's Kinect motion-sensing camera for the Xbox 360 has been named the fastest-selling consumer electronics device in history. According to Guinness World Records, the console add-on sold an average of 133,333 units a day in its first two months. "The sales figures here speak for themselves. We can confirm that no other consumer electronics device sold faster within a 60-day time span, an incredible achievement considering the strength of the sector," said Gaz Deaves, Editor of Guinness World Records 2011 Gamer's Edition. The Kinect, which was initially priced at £129.99 but is now available from a number of retailers for less-than £100, has sold more than 10 million units. The device is an add-on that will enable Xbox users to play games by moving parts of their body, rather than a handheld controller. The technology can also identify different people's faces and recognise different voices. View: Original Article
