uTorrent is an efficient and feature rich BitTorrent client for Windows sporting a very small footprint. It was designed to use as little cpu, memory and space as possible while offering all the functionality expected from advanced clients. With uTorrent, you can download files faster and contribute by sharing files and bandwidth. Additionally, uTorrent supports the Protocol Encryption joint specification (compatible with Azureus 2.4.0.0 and above, BitComet 0.63 and above) and peer exchange.

Thanks to SacredCultivator for the update.

I downloaded 2.2.1.24763 Beta.exe, it won't install over the current b24649, or a fresh install results in b24649 again, neither will the Check for Updates download b24763. Went to uTorrent site, shows b24649 as current 2.2.1 Beta release. Any ideas anyone?

I think they messed up something on their page. If you look on the Changelog, you will see that build 24763 was there at some point, although now the latest version is 24649. We will wait for just a little longer to see what happens and if there isn't any expanation/new build posted, we'll revert to the last posted version.

Changelog:

-- 2011-02-18: Version 2.2.1 beta (build 24763)

- Change: CPU usage optimization for the GUI thread

- Fix: create more space for strings in UI for translations

EDIT: Due to a crash in the 24763 build, it was rolled back to 24649.
