It seems the Internet Explorer Team is showing signs that a Release Candidate (RC) is all but ready to be made publicly available. Over at the Internet Explorer Facebook Fan Page they have been answering fans' questions with comments like: "The wait is almost over!" and "We will have an announcement soon regarding the IE9 RC. Stay tuned!" When asked when the widely anticipated successor to IE8 will finally be made available to the masses,

And people rejoiced!

Earlier this week, screenshots of Internet Explorer 9.00.8073.6010 leaked to the web showing off a tweaked UI and the new "Do Not Track feature." Dean Hachamovitch, Corporate Vice President for Internet Explorer, has since blogged about the new feature in depth, saying:

"IE9’s Tracking Protection focuses on the issue of
online tracking
. Consumers on the Web are tracked every day without their awareness or permission. As a result, there is growing consumer concern and suspicion about tracking. That theme was consistent across the conversations visiting government agencies and industry groups in the United States last month as well as the conversations in Europe last week."

The Release Candidate will also include the improved UI tweaks to the tabs and buttons that we showed off earlier this week. The much improved download manager now also shows transfer speed and possibly brings closure to an area that has been seriously lacking in all previous versions of the browser.

IE has fans?

People were waiting for an IE release? I thought they would have given up after the decade wait between IE6 and 7.

I gotta' say, IE9 is the fastest browser Microsoft has ever released (in ratio with the technology to do so, at the time of the other browser's inception). I'll never use it again, lol, but I really can't talk smack about it.
