<img src="http://www.nsanedown.com/images/logos/LibreOffice.png" class="logo" alt="LibreOffice" title="LibreOffice" />LibreOffice is a productivity suite that is compatible with other major office suites and available on a variety of platforms. It is free software and therefore free to download, use and distribute. The goal is to produce a vendor-independent office suite with ODF support and without any copyright assignment requirements. LibreOffice is capable of performing the same tasks as every other office suite, from making calculations to drawing.

I installed LibreOffice... (they suggest you to uninstall OO.o first). And...

...it's equal to original OO.o.

They have added some things, unique to LibO, but the look and feel is very similar or... even the same.

So it's safe to install for OO.o users.

I hoped they have improved UI, but... not.

I hoped they have improved usability, but... not.

I hoped they have improved speed, but... not.

I hoped they have improved disk size, but... not.

So i'm very disappointed with this LibO... and waiting to see OOoLight.

This article says it all. :)

Basically, they have done some real backend changes. But otherwise, nothing drastic. Either way, we should give them some time, it's a new org with good aims, got away from Oracle just a few months ago. This is just a start.

I'll be downloading the final as soon as IDM starts working. If I like it after using it couple of times, bye, bye Office 2010. ^_^

If OO.o didn'r replaced your M$O, LibO won't anyway xDDDDDD

Seriously, DOCX documents looks weird in OO.o (so i guess it's the same in LibO). It's much better a M$O2003 with the 2007 compatibility pack.

Another thing to whine... they didn't remove Java shit in LibO. I was expecting that, i don't know why, but i think OOoLight *have* removed it.

I also don't like separate installer/helpack. Installer is multilingual, and have at least 100MB in languages, why not another 100MB in main installer for localized help ? Why not english-only installer and localized EXEs/helpack in a separate pack (same as Go-OO)?.

So many things too similar to OO.o, but now i use LibO instead OO.o.

My intention was not frightening people xD

Only trolling on OO.o and LibO cause they're too similar on several things.

Has Kingsoft localized builds? It seems very nice (UI similar to M$O2003), vey light, and very compatible with formats such as DOC/DOCX/ODT.

Is it easy to "register" :pirate:?
