In my opinion yes it is better because I notice that on a big rar or zip file (usually 200 mb) Winrar takes about 30 - 40 seconds to extract while 7zip takes 2 minutes. But somehow, never felt to make it my main compression tool. :dunno:What I really love about WinRAR is that it offers this "Archive" tab in the file properties. This allows me to see compression % without opening it. portage Posted January 6, 2011 Share Posted January 6, 2011 @DKT27 well i don't know I find compression to also be faster on winrar. But what I love the most about Winrar is the simplicity. I mean the only things you have to know are how make make a locked archive, how to compress an archive, and how to extract an archive.
