Share files across multiple hosts

File hosts offer storage capacities on the Internet for users who do not have their own storage space, for instance by running a website, and for users who prefer to host files on free file hosts for distribution and bandwidth reasons.

The majority of file hosting sites users tend to upload the file to one hoster. This can be unproblematic depending on the uploaded file and restrictions of the file hoster. Some file hosters only allow a certain amount of downloads, other have a bandwidth limit for files.

That’s where file mirrors can come in handy. A mirror is basically another server hosting the file. That requires more work on the uploaders part if done manually.

Here are a few very useful websites for uploading your files to multiple hosts at once.

MIRRORCREATOR

Mirrorcreator is an easy to use webapp for sharing a single file across multiple file sharing services at the same time.

MirrorCreator supports uploading files from a local computer system or from a remote location. To begin users need to select Upload from PC or Remote URL Upload to select the type of upload and either select a file from the PC or paste an URL into the form. It is furthermore possible to enter an email to receive a notification when the files have been uploaded.

Mirrorcreator requires no registration and costs nothing to use. In the time it takes to upload just one file, it will spread them across multiple hosts of your choice. You can select up to 14 different file hosting sites (like MegaUpload, RapidShare, Hotfile). File sizes range from a generous 200 to 400MB depending on the host. Each service is listed with its name and file upload limit. A click on Upload sends the selected file to the service. It may take a while before the file is spread to all selected mirror services. A url is displayed in the end that links to all file hosting services the file was distributed to.

Post-upload, Mirrorcreator will offer an aggregated download view linking to each of your preferred hosting sites to ensure there's always a reliable option at hand. This is great for those of you have a preferred hosting service, or seeing faster downloads with a particular one. You can find an example upload page here.

FLASHMIRROR

FlashMirrors is another free website for social file mirroring online. By using this service you'll be able to upload files to multiple file hosts in one go thus saving you time and bandwidth. Simply upload a file to their servers utilizing gigabit speeds will rapidly mirror your file to over 10 file hosts, including RapidShare, FileFactory and many more.

Features:

- FlashMirrors uploads your files to multiple file hosts simultaneously. This way you will save time as our their servers are capable of much faster upload speeds than your average home ISP company.

- You will also save bandwidth, as you'll only need to upload your file once in order to get it uploaded for example to 10 file hosts, therefore you are saving 10th's of your bandwidth.

- An optional feature is provided which sends you an email with the link to the download page.

- Mirror pages are designed with the user in mind (file specifications, mirror status and links to each mirror and much more).

- No registration is required.

- Get alerts when a mirror has finished uploading.

LOAD2ALL

Load2All can upload files to multiple file hosting websites at once. The service currently supports 19 different file hosting services among them Rapidshare, 2Shared or File Factory. Each file host can be selected on the main page individually.

There are two options that make Load2All unique when it comes to file uploading services. It can split large files into multiple files if the size of the uploaded file should exceed the limit of the supported file hosting services. That’s very interesting for users who usually upload large files to these services. Load2All will automatically pack the files as rar files and split them into multiple archives if a file size limit would be exceeded by the upload.

Even better is the fact that it will do that only for the services where the limit would be exceeded. The other option is to make use of a Rapidshare or Megaupload Collector account to earn points from the uploaded files. The Rapidshare login information need to be entered in this case in the web form.

Finally it is also possible to enter an email address which will then be used by the file uploading service to notify the user about the created links at the selected file hosting websites. Load2All offers several interesting options to users who want to upload large files to multiple files hosts.

RAPIDSPREAD

No, I didn't mean Rapidshare.

This service allows you to upload your files to 10 different destinations all at once. These destinations include: bannedhost.to, Mediafire, Rapidshare, Zippyshare, Zshare, Sendspace, Badongo, FileFactory, EasyShare, Depositfiles.

You don’t even have to go through the signup process and have an account with RapidSpread. It just uploads your files to all (or as many as you select) of these destinations and provides you with a link of your uploaded file.

SHAREBEE

just like all the other websites in this list, Sharebee.com is a file upload distributor. You upload a file to one of their servers and their servers will upload your file to other file upload services.

You will receive a Sharebee link which contain all the download links to other (external) fileserver websites, such as rapidshare, megaupload, zshare, badogo, and depositfiles. Their servers will maintain those download links as long as the Sharebee link has visitors and will keep uploading to new (external) fileserver websites when needed. Sharebee.com itself does not host any files.

You can download files from any one of the sites linked in the sharebee link.

[ EDIT ]

I am completing this list, with spootnack's recommendations:

MULTIUPLOAD

With MultiUpload, you can upload your files to multiple file hosting sites at once. There are 6 hosting sites available: Rapidshare, Megaupload, depositfiles.com, Hotfile, zShare and uploading.com.

Works beautifully. The download manager is stable & fast. Accepts login from all the hosts it mirrors, so you will get points with uploads. No pop-up's, clean interface, & files have a long life. For those looking to create mirror links to Rapidshare or MU it is a great addition.

Klurk.com is a Web 2.0 file mirroring service with the most advanced features and technology. Just upload your file to their server, it will be automatically distributed to several free file hosts. After it's uploaded, you will get download links to these sites.

FLAMEUPLOAD

This is interesting. Flameupload and Klurk have the exact same description in their about section of their website. So I guess there are a lot of similarities between theese to sites. See for yourself: klurk official description and flameupload official description.

They use latest technologies like ajax, php, mysql, curl and a Web 2.0 design. All uploads are multi threaded meaning it will be done parallely reducing time for generating the links.

Know what I wonder, if it is safe to store your password on these sites. Like for instance I use multiupload and I have stored my login information for my hotfile and megaupload premium on multiupload so that it uses my own account but now I am wondering if that is really a good idea.
