nsane
i started off with winzip, then winace, and finally ended up with winrar...for basic usage. but, i also use 7zip on some things since the 7z format can compress even better than rar on un-packed data

Donaldo
I use WinZip for my office needs & WinRAR for all warez purposes. That said, recent versions of these utilities are cross compatible with not only each other but many other compressions tools, too.
SacredCultivator
7-zip for me, used to it, first ones were WinZip/WinRAR
_Fallen_
I like winrar, it has very friendly GUI and workflow. 7-zip is good with high compress ratio, but a bit hard to use.I like view command in winrar, it can show me what is the SFX-archive, not as 7-zip. HATE9X
WinRAR since years.. it's not only compression that let it pwn WinZip, but also the GUI which got me hooked to the app from the first time i used it..the way you can browse thru files.. just brilliant..and great compression w/o still taking ages (or tons of ram) to extract/compress..
