ESET Fixes

i was thinking it may not have been the fix that was faulty cuz it had been working just fine for a few months. i was thinking more like maybe eset updated a few program files/components that rendered the fix ineffective hence when i reinstalled nod32 again, i disabled program updates. i didn't try that mara fix you linked to but i'm gonna add that server in anyways. thanks!

That server link will change your eset to trial. I don't think you should use it if you use any serial or serial entering software. :)

Hi, Siddharta, I've never used minodlogin before. does it have to be kept running to keep eset updated? or will nod32 automatically get updated without any intervention after first use of minod? (i'm using nod32 antivirus, not eset smart security)

i had previously been using purefix 1.52 but on one of my systems eset trial got deactivated and stopped updating automatically, no idea why, cuz it had been running just fine last few months. i'm looking for an alternative source that works fine without user intervention.

Did you try this? If you were using a trial version and it asked for username/pass after using PureFix, then most likely it's a problem in ESET, not the fix. Hence, doing the thing in mara-'s post fixes the problem. ;)
how to add http://update.eset.com/eset_eval/ to eset 5 rc???? seems locked to me or did i miss something

I got same error, but after the reboot is working as is says, my big problem is that real time protection is not detecting nothing, only detects by "On-Demand". :(

It happens if you install on non English windows. I fixed the issue in a later build but I don't think i released it.

Does Nod Login check automatically if the licence is still valid or not?Or do I have to execute it myself each time licence becomes invalid?

Thanks

dont think nodlogin does that automatically . tnod however will check licenses and renew them before they expire automatically .

At the end of all search and expel notice in systray, no license and try later! I tried with both versions of TNOD, however, the same thing! I do not know what the problem was! Do the same with the other! :frusty:

Why dont you let the program to insert a new license even if the one you are using is still valid ?. Let the program to work freely with default configurations.

You may consult Tukero website .They will clarify your doubts.

My case : If I have a license that goes for instance until 16.Nov.2011 and a new one is inserted after an update of virus sign. database, and this ends earlier, I dont mind. What does matter is that program works ... and inserts licenses that are never blacklisted...because they are changing too fast...

I tried updating my nod32 virus definitions manually (offline updates by putting the .nup and .ver files in C:\nod_upd) and I got the nod32 + marafix combo. Weird thing is I updated it successfully, nod32 shows current version as 6395 (which is the offline version that I downloaded) but whenever I click that link, it goes to a 5782 version (which was the version of the fresh installed nod32) page. My question is, is that a bug or my virus definitions was really updated to the version that I downloaded which was 6395? I hate to do it the manual way because it's way too slow.

Another question is, I checked online and the latest current update available is 6405. I kept checking and it still says that my definitions "are up-to-date." What's with that?

They just made the usual and periodical repackaging with the virus signature database, so you have to download the new 11 MB "engine 1"

Posted Image

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

You only have to wait until the new database has been first stored on the "regular servers" and then on the free trial servers
