nsane.forums
Microsoft has revealed the beta version of Internet Explorer 9 has been downloaded by 10 million web users, just six weeks after its launch. As research by Microsoft revealed web users only use 12 of the features in the browser regularly, the software company decided to give IE9 less-cluttered user interface. In keeping with the look of Microsoft's recent OS, Windows 7, the browser is framed in "glass" so web users see a page's content first and foremost. IE9 also makes use of a number of functions first introduced in Windows 7, including the ability to pin sites to the taskbar, tear off a tab -- by dragging it away from the browser -- and using Windows Aero Snap to view two sites side-by-side. "We are particularly excited about developer reaction and feedback to IE9 Beta, with 37 million pages views of our Test Drive site and 13,000 pieces of feedback submitted," Microsoft said, adding IE9 is "on track to be our fastest adopted browser ever." The web browser hit the two million downloads mark just two days after its September 15 launch. IE9 can be downloaded from Microsoft's site. Night Owl
And 9 million uninstallations? :P9.9 millionYes, I fully agree! IE 9 Beta 1 looks nice and has a lot of potential. I tried it, but it wasn't fully compatible with the nsane.forums frontpage :o (adding a comment would always appear twice), it wasn't fully compatible with my library (availability and renewal information could not be displayed at all). Even a reviewer of IE 9 Beta 1 couldn't write his review with the browser because it didn't work with his blogging website. :oI really wanted to like IE 9 Beta 1, but it still needs work.

Anything but the nsane forums front page. ^_^ Let's hope they get everything fixed prior to the full version's completion. Maybe they won't push off their release a million times like a certain browser whose name will go unmentioned *cough* firefox *cough. .

HX1
I actually noticed a few of the problem on this front page for nsane.. but other than that I really haven't had much of a problem using it.. its fast and seems to be an improvement over IE8.. and I always have been a FF type.. but I still see improvements and I actually think that for what its worth the simpler design is appealing and will probably look a little more refined around the edges when done.. slightly, maybe..I would say 10M is a lot for a Beta... but for a standard everyday browser.. maybe not.. especially when numbers easily exceed that 200x.. and more. Administrator DKT27 Posted October 31, 2010 Administrator Share Posted October 31, 2010 It should be noted that SunSpider benchmark would probably only be testing the javascript performance not the overall speed of the browser. Javascript may matter the most but it doesn't say the whole story.
BDX
Many people ITT simply exaccerate. IE9 isn't THAT bad. In fact, it's a huge step forward. It seems that IE9 sucks because it's IE. Once (or should I say 8 times :P) bad always bad.
irefay
W7 has progressed nicely, You would kind of think that MS would put leadership in charge that understands browser development. If Opera,FF,Chrome, and Safari can do it, then that might mean that MS is the retarded kid on the block.
HX1
Well you do know the guy that wrote IE all the way up to and influenced version 8.. is no longer with the company...
tipo
i don`t really trust this M$ and pcworld cr4p. better try it myself and have a personal opinion than listen to these f***s... B)
HX1
Yeah.. I found it to be an upgrade to IE8.. much better as I did 8 to 7... 6.. I almost don't remember 6.. must have been using FF... Some things written and typed about on the Internet are personal opinions.. not professional opinions or even professional journalism.. so its good to always go by personal measure.. especially if you have doubts.. I found it to be much faster and the startup add-on timer to be pretty cool... I have used it n another system which had better hardware.. and felt it was definitely heading in the right direction.. Administrator DKT27 Posted November 1, 2010 Administrator Share Posted November 1, 2010 Well you do know the guy that wrote IE all the way up to and influenced version 8.. is no longer with the company...Let me confirm and extend that thing. In 2005, one of the main maker of Firefox left Mozilla to join Google, it was said that he would be working on a browser for Google, which is known as Google Chrome now. When that happened, Chrome was just a rumor that time, so Google obviously denied about the browser and the guy working on it. After two years, you see Google Chrome announcement. Now, about two months ago, a head IE architect who probably designed IE, left M$ to head to Google. Again, Google denied that he would be working on browser. So then, right now, two of the most talented guys are working for Google Chrome. We should know where it is heading.... But, I don't think that Google will kill Firefox's browsing experience and it's fanbase. ^_^
