HTC Desire HD in Australia at Crazy John's Too

Recommended Posts

On Tuesday, we learned that the highly expected HTC Desire HD smartphone would arrive in Australia exclusively on the airwaves of Vodafone, and that it would be available for $0 upfront on the carrier's $59 cap. However, it appears that Crazy John's would also sell the device, on their $59 cap too.

Mobile phone users in Australia interested in the purchase of this device should be able to get the handset from Crazy John's starting with November.

In the end, the phone would remain on Vodafone's network, while being available on a price plan similar to the one available at this wireless carrier.

Crazy John's $59 cap offers $650 of cap credit, free Voda-to-Voda calls, and 2GB of data, the same as Vodafone's option does.

No specific info on when the handset would be put on sale emerged, but Crazy John's lists it as “Coming Soon,” and there are great chances that November would prove to be the lucky time frame.

The HTC Desire HD comes to the market with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, the largest screen on an Android device, and with a new gen 1GHz Snapdragon processor inside, for improved performance levels.

With 768 MB of RAM inside and connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, or A-GPS support, the phone can offer all that one would want from such a device.

The handset also comes with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with 720p HD video recording capabilities, as well as with 1.5GB of internal storage, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for cards of up to 32GB.

“Building on the unibody heritage of the HTC Legend, the HTC Desire HD is sculpted from a block of solid aluminum and exudes the air of quality and strength that HTC has come to be known for,” one can read on Crazy John's website.

“It also includes the new HTC Fast Boot that enables people to quickly make a call or check emails by shortening the time taken to complete the power-up sequence.”

The specifications list of the new device also includes the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, enhanced support for various Google services, as well as for email, messaging and social networking sites.
