nsane.forums
Seagate has extended its FreeAgent GoFlex line of portable hard drives with a 1.5TB model, claimed as the first of its kind with this capacity.Available now in the US and coming to the UK before the end of the year, the 1.5TB FreeAgent GoFlex ultra-portable drive can store up to 60 high-definition movies, 750 video games, thousands of photos or hours of digital music, according to Seagate. The FreeAgent GoFlex line, already available in capacities up to 1TB, are 2.5in hard drives that weigh about 280g and ship with a USB 2.0 interface. The devices can be upgraded with an extra adapter kit to USB 3.0, eSata or FireWire 800 for greater data transfer speeds. However, the 1.5TB drive will ship with a USB 3.0 adapter as standard, Seagate said.It also includes an NTFS driver for Mac OS X, which allows the drive to store and access files from Windows and Mac systems without any reformatting.UK pricing for the new drive has yet to be announced.
