nsane.forums
Update plugs flaw used in recent attacks Adobe has issued an update to patch an actively-targeted flaw in its Flash Player. The company said that the update would fix a vulnerability which allows an attacker to remotely cause a crash and potentially take control of the targeted system. Windows, OS X, Linux, Solaris and Android are among the operating systems receiving the update. The update also addresses the flaw in OS X, Windows and Unix versions of Adobe Acrobat and Reader. The vulnerability has been targeted in the wild for attacks on Flash Player in Windows systems. Attacks on other platforms have not been reported. Adobe is releasing the patch one week early. Originally, the company had slated the update for deployment on 27 September, two weeks after the vulnerability was first acknowledged. Users running Flash Player 10.1.82.76 and earlier for Windows, OS X, Solaris, and Linux are being advised to update their systems. For Android users, the update will be applied in Flash Player version 10.1.95.1 and later. Additionally, the company is advising users of Adobe Reader and Acrobat versions 9.3.4 and earlier to update their software. Some Chrome users may already be protected, however. Google tied a fix for Flash Player into a Chrome security update last week. View: Original Article
