LeetPirate
I didn't see this on time but here is the information incase it happens again.Viruses or even reg files can cause this, somebody wanted to play a prank on you maybe. Only problem is you have no way of running the regedit command to fix back the registry because it will just launch whatever application it was set to launch. You need to use either a reg file or an inf file to correct the settings. The registry key affected is "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command"Save the following registry code to a .reg file then you can run it to fix the problem. This is my method of doing it as I have messed with my friend's computers in the past and made everything launch with notepad, lol. :rofl:Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command]@="\"%1\" %*""IsolatedCommand"="\"%1\" %*"OR if you prefer you can use the INF file method. Save the following text to a .inf file, right click the .inf file and click install and it should fix your problem. This inf file was developed by Symantec so credits to them.[Version]Signature="$Chicago$"Provider=Symantec[DefaultInstall]AddReg=UnhookRegKey[UnhookRegKey]HKLM, Software\CLASSES\batfile\shell\open\command,,,"""%1"" %*"HKLM, Software\CLASSES\comfile\shell\open\command,,,"""%1"" %*"HKLM, Software\CLASSES\exefile\shell\open\command,,,"""%1"" %*"HKLM, Software\CLASSES\piffile\shell\open\command,,,"""%1"" %*"HKLM, Software\CLASSES\regfile\shell\open\command,,,"regedit.exe ""%1"""HKLM, Software\CLASSES\scrfile\shell\open\command,,,"""%1"" %*"HKCU, Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System,DisableRegistryTools,0x00000020,
