nsane.forums
Manufacturer claims energy reductions of up to 46 per cent Fujitsu has launched a range of slim-line, power-saving monitors based on LED technology. The Fujitsu SL and L displays are "easy on the environment", according to the firm, and feature deeper contrast and richer, more realistic colours. The use of LEDs, as opposed to cold cathode fluorescent lamps, for backlighting flat displays can cut energy use by as much as 46 per cent, according to Fujitsu, and removes the need to use mercury in the manufacturing process. Thinner displays also consume less materials, the firm added, and are lighter and cheaper to transport. The SL units include dual HDMI connections, including one for 5.1 audio output, and a power saving ECO mode, while the L line has built in speakers and a multi-lingual online display menu. "LED backlighting provides a rich viewing experience and has the lightest environmental footprint," said Paul Craddock, static client product marketing manager at Fujitsu UK & Ireland. "Even under the harshest lighting conditions, the LED displays provide high contrast and brilliant colours." View: Original Article
