List Your Favorite Apps

Recommended Posts

My list has changed a bit:

  1. BitTorrent
  2. iTunes
  3. TuneUp Utilities
  4. WinRAR

Why?

My opinion:

1. µTorrent

2. Dozens better. Only reason to have it if you own an iPhone <_<

3. Good tools, but its bloated...

4. I've used WinRAR before, but now, I don't see any reason to prefer it over 7-zip which is open-source. :showoff:

  • Diskeeper's feature IntelliWrite® is a bit overrated. It may cause more stress on the Hard Drive and it needs to be constantly running...
  • Hard to believe that is necessary as it doesn't detect any drivers Windows (8) can't do automatically. Also searching manually is better than relying on a software for that. Final thing is, why would you need that software after you have installed all drivers needed?
  • This is pretty much OK as I have used Unlocker before, but It had some issues with deleting files.
  • That opinion is valid. Because I haven't used PowerISO much, does it have some features not found in UltraISO?
  • Want to see your opinion when you've tried it. :)

  • I don't think it does that much harm, plus it's nice not having to defrag. Just one more thing to rule out when my computer is acting slow
  • I uninstalled Windows 8 and put 7 on my laptop, which caused a lot of driver issues; any driver program is a big help to me.
  • I think I had some issues with a file one time but it wasn't Unlockers fault.
  • PowerISO supports some special extension that no other program supports. I don't use the extension, I just like the fact that I can play my iso game files without cracking them and that it's an AIO solution. I did some comparing and it looks like the installer for PowerISO might be smaller than the one for UltraISO and the mounting program combined.
  • Looks like it's in beta. Is it relatively new?

PowerISO is more about simplicity than features. UltraISO is great (probably the best), but not as simple as PowerISO. :)

I'll take that. I don't do much with iso files anyway. As long as I have a program that can make them and mount them, I'm satisfied.

My favorite program of all time is Sandboxie. I actually paid for this program and that rarely ever happens. This program has saved my ass so many times I cant begin to count them. Its like a condom for the dark dank corners of the internet.

I've never tried SumatraPDF, and yes, I used to use 7-zip for years, but now I like WinRAR most.

Advanced SystemCare seems to make my Windows 8.1 serious... I'm not sure...but I'm looking for new app too. I'll try Auslogics Boost Speed.

Thanks!
