KotaXor
Last infected?...wow..can't remember that well. It could have been after I ditch IE and use FF....maybe about 5 or maybe more years ago.I use Malwarebyte to scan once in a while, and it usually turn up nothing. And of course EAV as AV. OhMyGod
My last infection was probably back in 2003 when I got the NSIS Media Trojan from a Firefox extension called Foxie that I downloaded from Download.com.At the time no anti-malware solution could detected it and I know because I tried them all, F-Secure was the first to be able to remove it but it took about 3 months after it was discovered. Here is some info on it http://www.schrockin...vensismedia.phpopenwares.org was the site responsible for distributing it, later they got took down by the FTC.It was a horrible Trojan, it would keep installing more crap on your computer in the background. Finally I had to do a complete reinstall of WinXP to get rid of it. I haven't had an infection since then, except for accidentally installing the Ask Toolbar for a freeware program. :lol:Thanks.:)
jalaffa
Last time was like over 10+ years ago. Got an e-mail from a serious engineering firm on my contact list with an odd (pretty threatening message). Also in 2006-7 I was caught in using a fake nsane fix for Eset Nod. Luckily it did not work as a such. A not proper working malware it was.

Rob400
It's been a couple of years for myself. I have three computers in the house that have never seen an infection. The fourth, the one I am on now, gets worked over well. It is my testing computer for any new software to be tested prior to going on the main machines. I usually have to reload windows 2 times a year on this machine, not because of infection but just because performance declines when you constantly add/remove programs to test. Sandboxie and EAV have worked well. I also run two firewalls. Look n stop and Comodo for added protection for leakage. So far so good.Cheers

Makaijin
If by infected you mean a successful infection then none since I started using Win XP from when it was first released back in 2001. All that time until now I think my security software have only ever intercepted anything less than 10 times. It really depends if you practice safe surfing habits. I friend of mine can manage to get infected at least once a month, every month. He's the type that "click yes/OK first, ask questions later" on any pop-ups. I've gotten to a point where I just cba to clean his crap for him anymore. I tell him to take it to Geeksquad just so he can understand how it feels like to get repeatly ripped off by cowboys due to his never changing bad habits. Win7nerd
To counter these you can use a windows based app called "hosts man" it will block all scumware site plus possibly more than spybot, although I use it along with hostsman highly recconended also if ff add-on ad block doesn't get everything lol hostman should
silencer
It seems almost everyone uses some sort of security tool, so when was the last time you were actually infected? How did you overcome this infection? What new precautions did you put in place (if any)?Me? I've not been infected in over 6 years :) (probably longer to the be honest)Last time 2 years ago when I dl keygen/crack - my fault. It was so long time ago so I decided to resign from any av in the background. It useless and consume a lot of resources. I have only cloud scanning on demand (right click). sloweddi
Howdy,I am Sloweddi a new member. I have worked in the computer/IT field for the last 35 yrs. I was last infected today. I was pretty sure I would be infected, but I wanted to test as to which site was giving me the problem.Unfortunatly this was the third time being infected by the AntiVir Browser redirect virus and like I said it was a test to make certain which site was doing the infecting. Unfortunatly, it was AhaShare. My current protection is:SpywareGuard (I know, but I like it)AVG freeSpyware BlasterSpybot S&DMaleware BytesSuperAntiSpywareCWShredderAV... and a few others, but you get the idea. Any thoughts?? I have used Ahashare for a long time with virtually no problems until the last couple of months

toyo
I thought hard, but I think last time I got infected (not voluntarily, like for testing purposes) was back in the days when I used Amiga computers. I think all my diskettes were infected !!! Some with 15-20 virs that competed :P And all the games still worked :) That was because I didn't have a HDD yet and we were a local community that exchanged floppy disks, it was the only way since there wasn't any Internet available ;)
AntiVirus
My PC and laptop never got infected (at least that's what I know). But 6 months ago my flashdrive was infected by shortcut virus. I just need a little program from smadav.net to overcome it. :D
