cFosSpeed is a network driver, which attaches itself to existing Internet connections. It then optimizes data transfer by means of Traffic Shaping. Traffic Shaping is a method for optimizing the Internet traffic. It allows maximum speed while ensuring minimal Ping. You can use cFosSpeed with a router and/or a DSL-modem or cable-modem. You can also use cFosSpeed with other types of Internet access, ie. whenever you already have an existing Internet connection. cFosSpeed supports a wide variety of connections, like DSL, cable, ISDN, UMTS, etc.

! cFosSpeed can now communicate with other cFosSpeed drivers on your LAN to

share statistical data of how much each of them sent. This increases the

accurary of traffic shaping with more than one machine. We call this

feature "net_talk". Statistics are sent out as UDP packets (by default on

port 889) five times a second with TTL 1 to your local subnet broadcast

address, so they should never leave your LAN.

To use the "net_talk" feature, be sure the Options of your connection are

set to variable, not fixed.

cFosSpeed will show other party's traffic in the Liquid Crystal skins

together with your own traffic, just less intensely coloured.

There is the new command "ts" or "talkstat" to see which other machines on

your LAN use cFosSpeed. The global variable "net_talk" can be set to 0 to

disable this feature (spd gset net_talk 0 -save). You can change the UDP

port number with the global variable "net_talk_port"; it must be the same

on all machines in the LAN.

! cFosSpeed now measures the variance of ping packets and uses this value

when shaping. Usually the variance is quite small (e.g. with DSL 16 mbit/s

it's about 4ms), but with wireless networks it can be substantially higher.

This value can be accessed via variable "variance" (spd set variance). If

you don't want this value to be automatically changed by cFosSpeed, set the

global variable "vari_fixed" to 1 (spd gset vari_fixed 1 -save).

This variable will not be automatically changed if you have selected the

variable non-cooperative algorithm, since cFosSpeed will not know if changes

in ping time are due to variance or traffic from other LAN users. If you

use more than one machine on the LAN, be sure to use cFosSpeed on all of

them with variable cooperative algorithm.

This program is for the cFosSpeed. It adds a trial license so you have more time to evaluate the program. It was tested on WinXP (x86) and Win7 (x86/x64) using version 5.10/5.11(beta). It may not work with the latest patches/updates.

Instruction:

1. Install cFosSpeed. (If already installed, then skip to step 2.)

2. When you want to reset the trial period, just execute the TR and select [ RESET ].

(-a-) Automated = It automatically adds a 30-day trial license when the computer starts. The cFosSpeed will start only if a trial license is vallid. [if you use HIPS, make sure you allow it.]

(-b-) Manual = It manually adds a 30-day trial license and it Uninstalls the automated trial reset process.

3. To uninstall, just select (Manual) / [RESET].
