Hi, I'm new to using opera and have 2 question:

1- How can I make opera download stuff using Flashget, i know if I right click there is that option but for some sites u get the download link when u open a page and in that case opera's download manager is opened.

2- Background music does not play, i have this problem with firefox and opera, they don't play music background file which loads with a site. ( example: www.wuvstowy.tk -try opening it in IE then FF or opera to see what i mean - ) How can it work ?

For the first one, I'm not too sure as I don't use FlashGet. However to turn off the download manager in Opera, simply click on Tools > Transfers. Then click on View tab and select the option to "Never show transfers... etc".

For the second question... thanks for the example. Although there are some pages that don't always work using Opera as they should, I beleive this is due to the way Opera's security has been built into the browser.

When I opened up the link in IE7 I noticed that the file was .wma

Have you tried looking in Preferences > Advanced > Downloads and editing the .wma MIME type? Perhaps it may be as easy as setting it to open with Opera or choosing a different Plugin. I'm sure Opera's forum may give you further insight.

Hope this helps.

Regarding the 2nd Question

Had the same issue with the site that u provided, with the previous build of Opera.

But the new Build 8660

Windows media plugin now works even if java is disabled

unfortunately could not try it on the above website

There was no response to the name resolution request.

Hoping that the new Build resolves the iss

Edit: Nope.. not working.. Posted this on their Blog :(

Opera does support the BGSOUND element, IIRC, but only with directly supported sound formats (wav and midi). Not with formats that require a plugin to load. Netscape/Firefox has never supported this element.

See http://www.htmlcodetutorial.com/sounds/sou...famsupp_18.html for some more info on cross-browser background sounds.
