Karlston Posted February 26 Share Posted February 26 Apple is getting the latest season of Netflix’s hit documentary, and Netflix will get one live race weekend. Getty Images Netflix’s sports docuseries obsession started a few years ago with F1: Drive to Survive, but when the eighth season premieres after midnight tonight, it will also be available on Apple TV. Now that Apple TV has a five-year deal to be the US streaming home for F1 races, subscribers in the US will be able to catch every episode of the new Drive to Survive season without having to jump over to another streaming service. Apple TV and Netflix will both stream the eighth season of F1: Drive to Survive. The hit F1 documentary series that has so far been exclusive to Netflix, but the new season will debut on both streaming services on Friday. What Netflix gets is a live sporting event that doesn’t include Jake Paul or two geriatric boxers, as it will get to livestream the 2026 Canadian Grand Prix weekend from May 22nd to 24th to its US subscribers. F1 races used to air on ESPN, but in an interview with Racer, F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali says that the reach the sport gets through Apple “will be even bigger in the future and it is what we want to test in a market that is more mature than the others.” Apple also has the Brad Pitt-led F1 movie, which was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar and is apparently getting a sequel. However, even though these two are teaming up for Formula 1 this year, they still haven’t found a way to make Netflix’s content searchable from within the main Apple TV app. Source Hope you enjoyed this news post.
