Hello, i tried to update my BIOS and my MB is : GIGABYTE B450M K-CF and i checked in this website to download for drivers. However there were 2 flavours for GIGABYTE B450M K-CF is (rev. 1.0) and (rev. 2.0)

I noticed now i h' (rev.2.0) as i was searching for it.

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B450M-K-rev-20/support#Support-Bios
and
https://flashmyboard.com/mb/Gigabyte_B450M_K_(rev._2.0)

Downloaded the file and wrote it in USB.
Then restart the pc and boot to UEFI and choose the files. All went well.
Then it went to restart.Boom there is an error.

This msg popped up:

I pressed 'Yes', to reset fTPM. So then i booted back to BIOS UEFI and checked this option from UEFI

So after all this. I allowed the pc to restart and and in desktop it showed some kind of error and i clicked 'Yes'.

Although the pc boots and seems to work with out any hitch. But i would like ur opinion. Should i go back to previous ver or even if it is possible.

Ur direction would help me in making a wise choice for my pc setup.

Do u think i should just leave it like that.

I don't know if its a failed update or not. I ended in a mess and actually i just wanted the Hibernate to work well after a BIOS update. But seems it hasn't changed

and sometimes it works. All is jumbled up.

Also my Motherboard name and particularly the version has changed.

Before it was GIGABYTE B450M K-CF version:FC    & now

B450M K version FE   ( It says that version FE is a newer version and an update to B450K ver: FC)

Thank u for taking out ur time.

Everything seems Ok. When updating BIOS it will reset TPM keys, that is why you got that warning before starting update and a reset prompt after booting. You had the FC version and now you have the FE version which is the latest one.

hmmm.Okay nice to hear it. I was almost starting to feel terrible. I just want one more thing to bring to ur notice. It seems u r well version with UEFI settings and its feature. What would u suggest about this pop-up.

I don't remember getting that warning. But after reset of fTPM and choosing the Q-Flash showed this image. So what would u suggest me. Do i make a backup of the BitLocker Recovery key.  Is it important.

I'll go with what ever suggestion u come up with and mark this post as solved by you.

I havn't enabled any Bit Locker. Why would this be integrated in the UEFI. I h' simply uninstalled it from Win 11. Microsoft just gave the world a broken OS (Win 11)

Thank you very much for ur time and concern.

Gigabyte Q-Flash does not know if you have Bitlocker active or not, it is just a generic warning, because these days many people do have Bitlocker or device encryption on due to using a MS account which by default enables encryption. If you Bitolocker or device encryption is active, the BIOS update will reset the TPM keys, and thus trigger the Bitlocker recovery key request. And I have seen some cases where Bitlocker is active and keys were not stored into the MS account or the user does not know which MS account is being used (some people just create a random MS account to being able to use the computer for the first time, and forget about it).

Bitlocker is just for Windows Pro edition, the Home uses device encryption which is a light version of Bitlocker. If you do not have Bitlocker enabled you have no recovery key to save.

My Bitlocker wasn't active and it may just to be a generic warning as u stated and this behaviour that Q-Flash warning was not so threatening but rather a routine check for the users to know that

some changes are being made under the hood and the update job was successful. Honestly i don't see any kind of performance issue. When booted to desktop, it flashed an error and just continued.

I am wondering there must be many people have experienced the same issue like me.

Thank you for ur time, now i am a little more aware of BitLocker and TPM now.
