Administrator Matt Posted October 21, 2025 Administrator Share Posted October 21, 2025 VirtualBox is an application installed on an existing host operating system; within this application, additional operating systems can be loaded and run, each with its own virtual environment. For example, several Linux distributions can be hosted on a single machine running Windows XP; likewise, XP and Vista can run on a machine running Linux, and so on. There is a free for personal or evaluation use proprietary version and a GNU General Public License (GPL) version. Thanks to phen0men4 for the update. GertG
Please note that this version has major bugs and no longer starts VMs. Read more in the VB forum. Nuclear Fallout and Easy
MasterFaster
Workaround (maybe): Create a new Virtual Machine (identical to you old virtual machine, but with different name) and use the existed hard disk image from your old virtual machine.
