SatinOverlord
I too have found the most recent update rendering CCleaner pretty much useless. I will give BleachBit a go again.
Solution SacredCultivator Posted October 21, 2025 Solution Share Posted October 21, 2025 Sticking with 6.39 + CCEnhancer since sort of just became accustomed to the combo. Only use for the Cleaner, in the past used to use the Registry Cleaner as well, but as some have pointed out, it is kind of pointless and can lead to other issues. Though of course if there is another tool such as BleachBit which seems to be recommended as well that's good for just cleaning and supports winapp2.ini, that's a plus. Bonus if there's a portable vers.

appzter
Microsoft PC Manager - frees-up disk space, improves memory use, boosts performance. Free, safe and reliable (with Win10/11). Note: winapp2 can be used alongside PC Manager if you wish to do so (fwiw, I did not find doing that to be noticeably helpful). Radpop
HDCleaner supports three cleaning modes: Simple, Standard, and Advanced. So, it allows users of different experience levels to customize their cleanup process. Moreover, it includes tools for finding duplicate files, defragmenting HDDs, optimizing SSDs, managing system restore points, and securely shredding data to prevent recovery. HDCleaner ships with an internal copy of winapp2.ini, but advanced users can override or supplement it by placing a custom winapp2.ini file in the same directory as HDCleaner.exe (typically C:\Program Files\HDCleaner). You can safely add your own entries to it, provided they follow the correct syntax and target only non-essential files. Custom entries must be placed in a winapp2.ini file placed in the installation directory (e.g., C:\Program Files\HDCleaner), and the file should be saved in Unicode format to prevent crashes. If you are using Advanced mode with winapp2.ini, and you aren't totally PRO, you are recommended to test entries carefully and back up important data before running cleanup operations. For example, I cleaned Chrome too clean and had to remove and reinstall it to get addons working again. https://kurtzimmermann.com/hdcleaner_en.html https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/releases Arjun1
Moist_nugget
Yep, CCleaner 7 kept popping up by itself even though I had prevented the startup after booting and set the service to not be run automatically. The software became so aggressive and annoying. Way too commercialized and on-your-face. I uninstalled it. I will try BleachBit next. 😎
