Repairing drive C comes up every time I boot up my computer (Win 11 24H2)!

I have this nagging problem with Win 11 Pro showing "trying to fix my C drive during bootup, just because "lights went off". From that moment on i started to see

the Repairing error during boot time.
So it is commonly thought it could be a disk error.
So the solution would be to chkdsk c (chkdsk c d: and e: or chkdsk /f /r ).

Used this command in Safemode:

chkdsk c /f /v /r /x
chkdsk d: /f /v /r /x
chkdsk e: /f /v /r /x

Also i am using Eazy Fix for instant data recovery. But the error keeps showing if i boot to any snapshot.
I was quite dissapointed when this happened.
This image was when i booted to SafeMode n checked C drive properties.

After trying to repair, there was a Show Details Option in Image 1.

The .xml and .txt file r there  if u want to dig deeper.

Also i tried, when i ran chkdsk /f and /r after restarting. Using shift+restart and going into troubleshoot-> advanced options ->command prompt.

Also i h' a 2 TB SSD instead of the block hard disk.

Some places mentioned in the web, which didn't work for me:

I think it would be hard for people to understand but here a picture what and how it would look like.

This happens first after then the pc would boot.

This error before booting to desktop.

Check Drive Health Using Manufacturer Tools

As discussed this problem is most probably related to HDD or SSD. Before applying any changes, we recommend check drive health using manufacturer tools or third-party utility.

  • Download the diagnostic tool from the manufacturer’s website (e.g., SeaTools for Seagate, Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Western Digital).
  • Run the tool to check for bad sectors, SMART data, and firmware updates.

Disable Automatic Disk Checking

If you’re sure the drive is healthy, you can disable automatic disk checks during startup. Disabling it prevents repeated scanning during boot-up.

  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
  • Type the command chkntfs /x 😄 and press enterkey
  • Note: Replace [Drive Letter] with the drive causing the issue.
  • Restart your PC to confirm the changes.

Have you tried running an AV?

Hi,

Make sure the Volume ID with errors belongs to the C:: drive and not other hidden partition

On the Command prompt running as Administrator type:

WMIC Volume Get DriveLetter, DeviceID

The volume with problems may not have a DriveLetter associated!

I don't run AV but most probably Smadav for pendrive. If i ever get a problem then i simply revert to the earlier snapshot. And simply start working.

But i would love to see a much better solution for that.

Okay i m getting some answers.

  • Solution

Hi,

Open the Command Prompt as Administrator and Run chkdsk for that volume id

chkdsk /F "\\?\Volume{xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx}"

Don't forget the quotes.
