Hi everyone,

Just joined the Nsane community after TSRh sadly closed its doors a few days ago. It was a great forum with a strong community, and like many others, I'm now looking for a new home.

I've been involved in tech forums for quite a while, with particular interest in software, reverse engineering, and learning from the great minds in communities like this. I hope to reconnect with familiar faces and also meet new ones here on Nsane.

Thanks for the welcome and for pointing me to the forum guidelines.

I’ve gone through them carefully, and I saw it’s recommended to use the Thanks or Like buttons instead of replying just to say thanks — but I noticed I don’t have access to those buttons yet. I guess it’s because I’m new and haven’t posted anything yet?

Just wondering: how many posts do I need to unlock those features? Also, is there a minimum number of posts or likes required to be able to download stuff or use the chat box?

Appreciate any info you can share! 👍

You should have access already, it's just that some of our forums (like this one) don't have reactions. If you visit other forums here, you should see the heart icon at the bottom right of posts.

For downloads generally no, but posters offering a service of some kind may list some special requirements in the topic's opening post. For example, minimum number of posts, minimum membership time, need to have liked/thanked their first post etc.

 

By Chat Box, do you mean Private Messaging? If you don't see an envelope icon top right, you may have to reach "Member" before that's available. All new members start off as group "New Member" and there are a few things which will be unavailable until they reach group "Member". To get to group "Member", minimums for both posting count and membership time are needed.

Now everything is clearer to me. The previous forum I was on had a chat box where everyone could communicate, except for new members. Thanks. :)
